Lindy Hop/Beginner Swing Level 1 (6 weeks)
Featured topic for this session: Breaks!Level 1 classes get a mix of brand new dancers and continuing students. There are several different sessions at this level, each with new content, which can be taken in any order. Included this session, we’ll be playing with breaks, which add a nice variety to your dancing! We’ll cover how to lead and follow, how to fit with the music, plus some fun variations. Students are recommended to stay at this level long enough both to cover many of the important elements of Lindy Hop as well as to feel very comfortable with what’s taught before moving to the next level. The aim is to work on developing a solid foundation of dance skills while building a repertoire of moves for social dancing. Discount after 2 full sessions. (No experience required to join.) |

For this session, we’ll focus some attention to Lindy Hop styling, including those fancy swivels you see follows doing. Why does Lindy Hop look different than other kinds of Swing? It’s not just about what you do, but also about how you do it. Students are recommended to stay at this level long enough both to cover many of the important elements of Lindy Hop as well as to feel very comfortable with what’s taught before moving to the next level. Fun & Flashy Partner Moves
Spice up your Lindy Hop with a bit of flash! We’ll play with drops, dips, slides, and some eye-catching momentum based moves. Suitable for the social dance floor under appropriate conditions, and also fun to break out in a jam or competition. This class will include weight bearing moves, although we’ll go through different levels of options. Previous Lindy Hop experience is required, including knowledge of 8 count basics. (For intermediate to advanced.)
