February–April 2018 Session
Sundays • Newton, MA March 4 to April 15, 2018 (6 Week Session, no class 4/1)
Mondays • Boston, MA February 26 to April 2, 2018 (6 Week Session)
5:00–6:00pm Lindy Hop Level 1 (6 weeks)

Featured topic for this session: Charleston!

Level 1 classes get a mix of brand new dancers and continuing students. There are several different sessions at this level, each with new content, which can be taken in any order. For this session the focus will be on partner Charleston, a very fun component of Lindy Hop! Covered will be some of our favorite classic moves. Also appropriate for those who have learned some Charleston and would like to work on how to get the feel and styling into your movement, plus how to connect and move with a partner.

Students are recommended to stay at this level long enough both to cover many of the important elements of Lindy Hop as well as to feel very comfortable with what’s taught before moving to the next level. The aim is to work on developing a solid foundation of dance skills while building a repertoire of moves for social dancing. Discount after 2 full sessions. (No experience required to join.)

6:00–6:30pm Stay after class for practice!
6:30–7:30pm Lindy Hop Level 1 (6 weeks)

Featured topic for this session: Mixing 6s, 8s & Other Rhythm Patterns!

Level 1 classes get a mix of brand new dancers and continuing students. There are several different sessions at this level, each with new content, which can be taken in any order. During this session we’ll explore how to take a typically 8 count move and expand or contract into a different rhythm, how to mix varying rhythm patterns, plus taking the focus from the counts and putting it on flow and making smooth transitions.
