Wheaton College is 35 miles south of Boston,
Massachusetts, and 15 miles north of Providence,
Rhode Island. The college is accessible by car from interstate
routes I-95 and I-495, by train and bus from Boston's
international Logan Airport, and by bus from Providence's
domestic T. F. Green Airport.
By
Car
From Boston and Northern New England:
- Take I-95 South to Exit 6A onto I-495
South.
- Follow I-495 South to Exit 10, turn
onto Route 123 West.
- Follow Route 123 West for 1.5 miles to
Wheaton College.
From Western Massachusetts:
- Take I-90 East (Massachusetts Turnpike) to
Exit 11A onto I-495 South.
- Follow I-495 South to Exit 10, turn
onto Route 123 West.
- Follow Route 123 West for 1.5 miles to
Wheaton College.
From Providence, Rhode Island and Southern New England:
- Take I-95 North into Massachusetts, to Exit 6A
onto I-495 South.
- Follow I-495 South to Exit 10, turn
onto Route 123 West.
- Follow Route 123 West for 1.5 miles to
Wheaton College.
From Cape Cod:
- Take I-495 North to Exit 10, turn onto
Route 123 West.
- Follow Route 123 West for 1.5 miles to
Wheaton College.
Once
at Wheaton College Campus
Once you have reached Wheaton College on Route 123,
turn left at the big white church onto Pine Street and then
take the first right onto the campus. Follow this campus road, going
over three speed bumps. Take a right opposite the Haas Athletic
Center into the parking lot. The Balfour-Hood Center
will be straight ahead at the end of the parking lot up a set of
stairs. Walk up the stairs, enter the Balfour-Hood Center
and follow the posted signs to the Atrium.
Campus Security is available 24 hours in case of emergencies
at the Public Safety building. Continue on the campus road
passing the Haas Athletic Center and Beard Hall to
reach Howard Street entrance. Keep going straight to the
end and then left onto Route 140.The Public Safety
building is a few buildings down on the left.The building is also
marked on the maps on the campus and the map in your check-in packet.

Plane
The two nearby airports are Boston, Massachusetts's international
Logan Airport
(BOS) and Providence, Rhode Island's T.F.
Green Airport (PVD) which has domestic
and limited international flights. The latter is worth checking
as it often has less expensive flights than Logan (check
Southwest Airlines
which are usually not listed on general reservation sites). Public
transportation is available from both.

Public Transportation
If you fly into Boston, Massachusetts's international
Logan Airport:
- Bonanza Bus Lines
has a regular daily
schedule from Logan Airport to Foxboro which
takes about 45 minutes, costs $15 one way and $27 round
trip. See below for local taxicab
to Wheaton College.
- Foxfield Taxi
Corp. has a flat rate of $54 plus tip between Logan
Airport and Wheaton College. Make reservations ahead
of time.
If you fly into Providence, Rhode Island's domestic T.F.
Green Airport:
- Bonanza Bus Lines
provides a regular daily
schedule from T. F. Green Airport to Foxboro which
takes about 50 minutes and costs $13.50 one way. See below for local taxicab to
Wheaton College.
- Foxfield Taxi
Corp. has a flat rate of $51 plus tip between T. F. Green
Airport and Wheaton College. Make reservations ahead
of time.
If you are traveling by Amtrak:
- Take Amtrak to
Route 128 Station (or South Station if you
are going to downtown Boston first for sightseeing).
- Local train service on the MBTA
commuter rail Attleboro/Stoughton
Line stops in Mansfield. Trains between Route 128
Station and Mansfield are scheduled about
every 1.5 to 2 hours, cost $3 one way and take
approximately 20 minutes.
- You can also use the MBTA
commuter rail Attleboro/Stoughton
Line if coming from South Station in downtown
Boston to get to Mansfield. Trains are scheduled about
every 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, cost $3.25
one way and take approximately 40 minutes.
- Local taxicab from Mansfield to Wheaton College takes
about 10 minutes and costs $14.75 (Foxfield
Taxi Corp) or $15 (Foxboro
Town Taxi) plus tip.
- Amtrak also stops
in Providence (before reaching the Route 128
Station stop).
- Bonanza Bus Lines
provides a regular daily
schedule from Providence to Foxboro which
takes about 30 minutes, cost $9.50 one way and $17
return.
- It is about a 1.5 mile taxi ride from the Amtrak
Station to the Bonanza Bus Terminal (at One
Bonanza Way, Exit 25 off I-95).
