You do not need to do the full weekend as workshops are a la carte. The price is only $15 per workshop with even greater savings for 4 or more. To get this great deal, a completed registration with payment must be received by the early bird due date. Sending a check postmarked by October 30 will also qualify.

Skye & Naomi are highly sought out instructors and it is our turn to have them back in Boston. There are a variety of classes to choose from with great stuff for all levels. It is going to be an excellent weekend! All classes will be taking place in Newton Lower Falls, November 29-December 1. Saturday’s Uptown Swing dance will be at KI in Brookline.

New Sunday classes start on October 27 at the Newton Lower Falls Community Center. Due to schedule conflicts this fall, the Sunday session will be only 4 weeks.

New Monday classes start on October 28 in Boston at Ruggles Baptist Church for a 6 week session. This great location is on Beacon Street right at the Brookline border.

Classes for this session include a new Beginner Swing/Intro to Lindy Hop Level 1, appropriate for anyone starting out as well as those with some experience who are working on building a solid foundation of dance skills. Six count basics will be covered along with a variety of fun steps to build your repertoire and get you out on the dance floor!

Also this session is a new Lindy Hop Level 2. This class is for more intermediate level Swing dancers, although no prior Lindy Hop experience is required to join. Eight and six count basics will be mixed along with a variety of classic Lindy Hop, newer variations, and a focus on partnering, technique and style.

For Sundays only, there is a new class for intermediate to advanced Lindy Hoppers: “Stops” Routine/Fast Dancing. The “Stops” routine is a classic, known by Lindy Hoppers around the world. It was originally created when Frankie Manning took a series of “freezes” he had danced and realized they could be done with any song. The rest is history! After learning this fun routine, the class will focus on doing it faster and with Lindy Hop styling. It will be challenging, energetic and of course a ton of fun!

Happy October and another beautiful week of weather in the forecast. It makes the end of summer not so hard to take.

As fall marches on, it is exciting that there are so many wonderful dance opportunities to look forward to!

New classes are now up. It doesn’t seem possible, but this will be the last session of 2013!

New classes in Beginner Swing/Intro to Lindy Hop Level 1 and Lindy Hop Level 2 are scheduled in Newton Lower Falls starting Sunday evenings on October 27 and in Boston, Monday evenings on October 28.

Both locations are conveniently accessible by car or T with free parking available. It will be possible to make up missed classes at the alternate location and it has been great to see students taking advantage of that.

The Skye & Naomi weekend is coming up November 29 to December 1. This is the 6th time with this dynamic duo as every time it has been such an excellent weekend that it is a must do for another year! Seriously, their classes are fabulous! Inspiring and challenging while taught in a relaxed and fun spirit. You will love them! As if that isn’t enough, Uptown Swing will feature the return to Boston of the most fabulous Gordon Webster Band with Naomi on vocals. Something to look forward to for this Thanksgiving weekend!
